This tri-timezone collaboration has taken more than half a year to record and produce and will be on sale this Friday 21 March at Singapore’s underground darling venue, Home Club for 21.03 | Identité: Blue Hour Sessions.

/

Part of a wonderful line up of other talented artists and musicians of the night include, A N E C H O I S x Izyanti Asa’ari x Wu Jun Han and Ellipsis x Ban-Fam.

#inhabit2014

What thoughts thrive in the mind struck with stale kisses, embraces and words? The bitter, sour exchanges of hearts un-sparked, made dull with clashes, scratches and burns. Seek solace in the familiar that bind free souls and the birth an offspring of routine. Sometimes, love expires to a habit that must be unlearned and reversed, like a nervous tic, grown under skin, quenched and lied to with the comforts of time and lust. An unspoken covenant, stitched together with thread spun from fear of detachment and solitude, inhabiting the long-conditioned, spent hearts and minds.

Design - Inhabit

Favourite hiding / thinking / mystery place = forest. Where the leaves float about as punctuational rhythms and the tall trees shelter you from harmful rays and bullying winds like older brothers.

/

In this case, i am once again needed to think lo-fi as the budget for this is a nice big, $0.To be xerox’d “zine” style, i decided to go for the low. Nothing cheap should ever try to be something its not, thus, only way around lo-fi is to think, lo-fi.To counter the stability of quality from a xerox machine, especially with my experience of the ones available today, i decided to go with a simple trick to keep the image quality safe, as well as add texture to the sensory pool. I used a colour halftone - no big idea, really, just common sense.Since printing colour is a major “no, no” in my book, because it will never, never turn out as pretty as the pantone colour chart you picked it out from - so in short, DO NOT USE COLOUR FOR PRINTING LO-FI. Use paints! Paint markers! Stickers! Stamps! Gold foil! Anything but print! This not only adds to your personal “touch”, it also creates a very custom-made feel that will please anyone in the band scene./Drawing inspiration from their EP title, "inhabit", i went with my favourite place to hide and just be one with my dreams - that is the forest. You know how in winter or spring, you get those magical days where the rays beam through the leaves and make the frail spots of dew look like jewels as they sparkle? That moment is the meaning for my background used in the sleeve. Pictured here is the the outer sleeve (the cover and back), these are the sloshes of drip, dew and paint that come with every memory. Skip through it! And find the text within. Will be done with this soon and more pictures up then!+

"The Lofty Messages" - a turning point for my work from graphic to art. The few experiences i sought after in a manual journey through a year of gypsy travelling. The inconsistency of a home and vague promises made much of the sentiment in this piece.

While running the exhibition, i realised one thing that was priceless and maybe a true meaning for holding shows, is the level of discourse and valuable insight of your work through other people’s eyes and hearts.

I fed the audience with a morsel of sentiment, yet received more than a bowl of emotional intimacy.

Making use of my limited resources, this film is a representation of the 4 nights i spent with people, the work, essence of the show and a deep well of appreciation for the space.

+ Work : frompamm ✘ exhibition august ✘ the lofty messages {installed} - ends with a hoot! +

Wednesday night marked the end of my first solo show, independently run, installed and everything else in-between - independently. Throughout the experience, i was most grateful for the level of unexpected discourse and genuine love from the people around me who supported my work by being there.

The week was tough to face, there were so many things working against me and many other gigs at night, especially the mammoth “Night Festival” held by the Singapore Art Museum. The clash of events helped me weed out the genuine friends and that, i truly cherish. Some surprise guests also made my week ten times better.

I’ve learnt that while having a show is important, it’s also important to understand the lessons that come out of each one. For this one, i’ve gained insight on setting up a professional show and running with simple ideas - my first vinyl lettering experience, curating the space, getting along with gallery neighbours, preparing sales lists. I’ve learnt a lot.

I have much to be thankful for, and it’s only through my close peeps, that i can truly place these blessings in perspective.

Till the next one! In London :}

it’s the last moonlight for my #loftymessages show 🌸 come see it today if you haven’t already!
